It is definitely a special challenge, particularly for hobby riders, to be sitting on an MTB bike for 24 hours straight doing race laps. Being able to take turns in a team of two or four, makes the feat a little easier. So does the distraction that comes from a great atmosphere and an upbeat mood with a large crowd. That is exactly the case at Munich’s Olympiapark where the ninth 24-hour MTB racing classic of the hobby and racing community will be held for the ninth time in early June 2011. There is even a 24-hour world championship. It is billed as Bike&Fire and will be held at the former Maxhütte steel mill complex in Sulzberg-Rosenberg. The best organization is one that goes completely unnoticed and where everything runs like clockwork.
