APAX JR MIPS
Order number: A9797120
The Apax Jr. Mips is inspired by the adult model. The MTB helmet offers all junior mountain bikers the best possible protection in the terrain. Mips included. The low weight, mips, large head coverage, a long list of features and an attractive price make the Apax Jr. Mips a must-have for all those who like to ride off-road. The low weight comes from the Inmold manufacturing, where the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a firm surface connection, which is responsible for a very stable construction. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by another polycarbonate shell. The rear and temple sections are pulled far down for maximum safety. This creates even greater head coverage. In the case of falls with an oblique impact, Mips is designed to help reduce rotational forces acting on the head. Large vents ensure optimal ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head, and the shield guarantees additional protection in the field of vision. With the Run System Classic, which is combined with the height-adjustable Custom Fit, the bike helmet can be adapted to the head. Optionally, the Apax Jr. Mips can be retrofitted with the Multi-Fit Light rear light for better visibility.

Airflow Venting
Airflow Venting

One factor that greatly influences comfort when wearing is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, guided around the head and can flow out again at the back. The head is therefore comfortably air-conditioned at all times.

Ceramic Shell
Ceramic Shell

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Edge Protect
Edge Protect

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.

Ergomatic
Ergomatic

Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.

Hi-EPS
Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

Inmold
Inmold

In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.

Run System Ergo Flex
Run System Ergo Flex

The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Ergo Flex is the lightest, most comfortable adjustment system offered by Alpina. The delicate design clings evenly to the head and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted using fine increments – there’s no helmet more lightweight, more comfortable or with a more custom fit.

Y-Clip
Y-Clip

A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
