ALTONA
Order number: A9728135
Fresh coffee is on the breakfast table and the morning programme is on the radio. It is 8 am and the city is waking up. Soon it's time to head to the office – with your ALTONA. Visor down, into the turmoil. Under your bike, the asphalt rushes by. You flow with the traffic. No stress, no worries, with the best possible protection on your head. Altona means “all too close”. The new commuter helmet from ALPINA gets you closer to your goals. All of your goals. Thanks to a number of new technologies, the ALTONA sets new standards when it comes to safety, ventilation, comfort and integration. The high-performance material Koroyd ensures maximum protection. The stable and extremely lightweight honeycomb structure consists of a multitude of small tubes that are thermally connected to each other. In the event of an impact, they flatten and absorb energy. Due to the stable design, Koroyd also allows for much larger openings in the helmet surface, which guarantee excellent ventilation. Ventilation ducts guide the air inside the helmet along your head. With the ALTONA, the ventilation management can also be actively regulated by a sliding upper shell. Whether in the cool morning or in hot rush hour traffic, the ventilation is always optimal. However, the ALTONA is much more than just a helmet. It is a helmet and glasses in one - thanks to the integrated break-proof visor. It is available with and without Varioflex, the technology from ALPINA, which ensures perfect visibility in all lighting conditions. The self-tinting (photochromatic) visor responds to UV light and darkens automatically. The light silver-coloured reflective surface reflects infra-red rays, ensuring 100% UV protection at all times. An additional positive: there’s also enough room behind the visor for optical glasses. The Run System Ergo Flex ensures the perfect fit and the best-possible safety. The delicate design hugs the head evenly. A helmet cannot be adjusted more individually, more easily and more comfortably. The long list of equipment from the ALTONA is completed by loops on the straps that can be used to affix headphones as well as by the plug-in light on the back of the helmet. Two modes, steady and flashing, can be activated at the push of a button, even while riding. ALPINA has developed the best helmet for you for the urban environment. The ALTONA has everything you need for when you are on your way to work, your tour through the city and your maximum safety.

Airflow Venting
Airflow Venting

One factor that greatly influences comfort when wearing is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, guided around the head and can flow out again at the back. The head is therefore comfortably air-conditioned at all times.

Ceramic Shell
Ceramic Shell

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Edge Protect
Edge Protect

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.

Ergomatic
Ergomatic

Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.

Hi-EPS
Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

Inmold
Inmold

In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.

Koroyd
Koroyd

Koroyd is an extremely stable and lightweight honeycomb structure consisting of a variety of small inter-connected tubes. Thin cells form the inner core, which are thermally welded over a second outer layer. In the event of an impact, the system absorbs energy and deforms over its entire surface. Due to the stable design of the small tubes, Koroyd also allows for much larger openings in the helmet surface, which ensure excellent ventilation.

Mirror
Mirror

Mirror is a lens on which multiple reflective layers are applied. They provide protection from harsh glares and infrared light. Mirror is not only the feature of a highly functional lens, it’s an element of style.

Run System Ergo Flex
Run System Ergo Flex

The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Ergo Flex is the lightest, most comfortable adjustment system offered by Alpina. The delicate design clings evenly to the head and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted using fine increments – there’s no helmet more lightweight, more comfortable or with a more custom fit.

Singleflex
Singleflex

Singleflex lenses are made of break-proof polycarbonate. They provide 100% UV-A-, -B-, -C-protection and thus guarantee excellent eye protection. The hard (non-reflective) coating of the lens is extremely robust and scratch-resistant. Fogstop prevents fogging and ensures a clear view.

Y-Clip
Y-Clip

A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
