APAX MIPS
Order number: A9792130
The Apax Mips is an all-rounder in the off-road sector and is one of the lightest helmets in its category. The Ergo Flex run system in combination with Hi-EPS and Mips ensures maximum comfort and safety. The adjustment system impresses with its filigree construction and fixes the helmet evenly on the head in a 360 degree circumference. There is no more individual, smooth and comfortable way to adjust a bicycle helmet. Another plus for comfort: the removable padding. With it, you always feel comfortable - no matter how hot it gets in the terrain. The low weight of the Apax Mips comes from the Inmold production, in which the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a firm surface connection, which is responsible for a very stable construction. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by another polycarbonate shell. Thanks to the Seamless Connection, it nestles seamlessly against the upper shell. For the highest possible safety on rough trails, the rear and the temple area are pulled further down. This creates even greater head coverage. In the event of a fall with an oblique impact, Mips is designed to help reduce rotational forces acting on the head. Large vents allow for optimal ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head, and the height-adjustable shield guarantees additional protection in the field of vision.
Technologies
Airflow Venting
Airflow Venting

One factor that greatly influences comfort when wearing is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, guided around the head and can flow out again at the back. The head is therefore comfortably air-conditioned at all times.

Ceramic Shell
Ceramic Shell

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Edge Protect
Edge Protect

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.

Ergomatic
Ergomatic

Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.

Hi-EPS
Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

Inmold
Inmold

In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.

MIPS
MIPS

MIPS is a system that provides protection against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements in an impact. The low-friction insert allows it to glide smoothly 10-15 mm in any direction, thus reducing the rotational movement in the event of a fall. This gives MIPS extra protection.

Run System Ergo Flex
Run System Ergo Flex

The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Ergo Flex is the lightest, most comfortable adjustment system offered by Alpina. The delicate design clings evenly to the head and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted using fine increments – there’s no helmet more lightweight, more comfortable or with a more custom fit.

Run System Ergo Flex Mips
Run System Ergo Flex Mips

The first adjustment system with integrated MIPS. The RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX offers individual, height-adjustable helmet adjustment. This combination not only increases comfort, but also guarantees additional safety in impacts with rotational forces.

Y-Clip
Y-Clip

A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
