The Taunus Mips Max Nerurkar Special is the perfect helmet for your next stylish MTB adventure. It is sporty, classically good and has a dynamic design. Whether gravel forest paths, flow trails or single trails: with the Taunus Mips you are perfectly equipped. The name suffix “Mips” already shows it: there's something more here. Namely Mips, the Multi Impact Protection System. This can minimize possible rotational forces during impacts and thus reduce the risk of concussion. In addition, the safety of the Taunus Mips is guaranteed by a microshell outer shell in combination with an EPS inner shell. Large air inlets provide sufficient fresh air to the head, while the Flynet prevents flies from taking the same path. Technologies

Ceramic Shell

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Edge Protect

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.

Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

Inmold

In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.

Run System Ergo Flex Mips

The first adjustment system with integrated MIPS. The RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX offers individual, height-adjustable helmet adjustment. This combination not only increases comfort, but also guarantees additional safety in impacts with rotational forces.
