CARAT LX
Order number: A9081000
Children’s ski helmets need to offer maximum protection and be comfortable and robust. Alpina’s Carat LX guarantees all this thanks to the highest Made in Germany production quality. Along with outstanding processing, the Carat LX also offers maximum safety and many features. The helmet is very lightweight yet sturdy thanks to the Inmold design. The polycarbonate shell connected to the Hi-EPS is unbreakable and scratch-proof, as well as UV-resistant and antistatic. The helmet is adjusted to the child’s head using the Run System Ergo Snow so that it sits perfectly. A central dial allows the headband to be adjusted more loosely or more tightly. Combined with the micro fleece neck warmer and soft ear pads, the helmet is able to sit not just perfectly, but comfortably as well. To keep the helmet from slipping off the head, the helmet’s strap is secured under the chin with the Ergomatic strap buckle with red button and multi-step automatic adjustment. This strap buckle can be used even when wearing ski gloves, and can’t open itself in the event of a fall. Thus the Carat LX also gives parents a sense of security when the children set out for their first turns on the piste.
Technologies
Ceramic Shell
Ceramic Shell

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Ergomatic
Ergomatic

Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.

Hi-EPS
Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

Inmold
Inmold

In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.

Run System Ergo Snow
Run System Ergo Snow

The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. Alpina relies on the tried-and-tested Run System Classic for its ski helmets, a flexible head adjustment system with a central dial. A twist mechanism allows the headband to be adjusted more loosely or more tightly. The large dial is equipped with a non-slip two-component mix and can be operated perfectly with ski gloves.

Venting System
Venting System

Air vents ensure optimum air conditioning, air circulation and effectively prevent heat accumulation inside the helmet.
