CARAPAX JR.
Order number: A9702143
Like its big brother: the Carapax JR. is inspired by the model for adults, and thus promises optimum protection in the country for all young mountain bikers. The low weight, maximum head coverage and a long list of features provide it with an ideal price/performance ratio. The low weight is due to the inmold production where the upper shell is thermally connected with the Hi-EPS. This results in a solid surface connection, which is responsible for a very sturdy design. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by the additional polycarbonate shell Edge Protect. The back and temple areas also pull further down for the highest possible level of safety on rough trails. This creates even greater head coverage. Large air vents ensure optimum ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head, and the shield guarantees optimum protection in the field of vision. With the Run System Classic, which can be combined with the height-adjustable Custom Fit, the bike helmet can be adjusted to your head. The Multi-Fit Light rear light can also be added on to the Carapax JR. as an option for better visibility.

Airflow Venting
Airflow Venting

One factor that greatly influences comfort when wearing is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, guided around the head and can flow out again at the back. The head is therefore comfortably air-conditioned at all times.

Ceramic Shell
Ceramic Shell

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Custom Fit
Custom Fit

Custom Fit is an adjustment system at the back of the head that allows you to adjust the height of the Run System in several steps. This allows the optimal fit of the helmet to be adjusted for a wide variety of head shapes. Pressure marks are a thing of the past, the helmet sits perfectly on the head and safety is improved.

Edge Protect
Edge Protect

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.

Ergomatic
Ergomatic

Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.

Hi-EPS
Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

Inmold
Inmold

In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.

Run System Classic
Run System Classic

The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Classic scores points for its price/performance ratio. It is a simple and sturdy wheel that holds the helmet securely in place where it belongs: on the head.

Y-Clip
Y-Clip

A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
