A ski helmet that doesn't look like a visor helmet – but still is one. Is it magic? No, it's the Vizzard Mips. A hybrid visor helmet that combines sporty design with maximum functionality and enchants every day on the slopes. The integrated Q visor ensures clear vision, filters out distracting reflections, and allows you to better see bumps in the snow. Combined with WideVision, you can immerse yourself in a unique mountain panorama without restrictions – and experience a completely new skiing sensation. On top of that, the visor gives you 100% protection from harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. In the event of a fall, the HI-EPS material, consisting of microscopic air chambers, absorbs the forces involved. In addition, the Mips safety feature is integrated, which reduces rotational forces that can occur during an oblique impact and cause concussions. The helmet itself is protected at the lower edges with EdgeProtect, which refines the helmet and makes it robust at the same time. For maximum comfort, the helmet is equipped with a high-quality, one-piece inlining and 3D-shaped ears. The Fidlock magnetic closure system is easy to use, even with gloves on. Active ventilation allows you to individually regulate the climate inside the helmet – for a comfortable temperature, whether you're enjoying a sporty descent, a relaxed day in the sun on the slopes, or freezing temperatures on the glacier. The Vizzard is a compact all-rounder and the ultimate answer to the question of a versatile ski helmet. Technologies

Edge Protect

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.

Fidlock

The FIDLOCK helmet buckle can be closed securely even with one hand. The self-activating, magnetic locking mechanism is thus very convenient when putting on and taking off the helmet. The one-handed operation is quick and intuitive, without the risk of pinching skin. The FIDLOCK fastener is even easy to use when wearing gloves. The fastener securely prevents the helmet from being knocked off your head when the straps are correctly adjusted.

Hi-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.

MIPS

MIPS is a system that provides protection against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements in an impact. The low-friction insert allows it to glide smoothly 10-15 mm in any direction, thus reducing the rotational movement in the event of a fall. This gives MIPS extra protection.

Quattroflex

Quattroflex is the term for a specially coloured lens in ruby red, which reduces the proportion of blue in visible light. This increases contrasts in the snow, allowing surroundings to be perceived better and more quickly. Thanks to the lens’s brightening effect, the contours and textures of the piste can be perceived better even in poor weather conditions. A polarisation film of highest optical quality built into the lens completes the Quattroflex effect: Distracting scattered light and glares are filtered out and the contrast is also enhanced. Reflections and mirroring are minimised, which allows icy surfaces and dangerous situations to be seen much better.

TRM

The “translatory-rotatory-mechanism” (TRM) seals the visor particularly close to the face. The mechanism allows the visor to rotate from the upper to the lower position. In the lower position, a linear movement (translation) ensures that the visor can be moved towards the eyes. This creates a compact fit of the helmet on the head.
